Unhealthful News Hiatus

Hi, everyone.  I have completed a half year of daily Unhealthful News posts, but I am not going to finish the promised other half year.  Not immediately anyway.  I am also going to mostly go dark with regard to blogging in general, and perhaps other media.  I will try to look out for direct messages and will probably not be completely silent on twitter and facebook.

To the health news reporters and the bad researchers and busybodies who are doing so much damage to public health, let me assure you that this does not come because I have discovered a shortage of unhealthful, unscientific, and unethical behavior to challenge.  In other words, it's not you, it's me.  I suspect most of my close followers have picked up on my professional frustrations and other difficulties.

I think I will probably be back, so see you then.

  2. You have an amazing gift for articulating things that would otherwise go straight over the heads of unscienctific types like me. (You're also funny, which helps.)

I've learned so much from this blog--important stuff that I needed to know--and I thank you for that.

    Well, this is depressing.

    Wishing you light, Dr. Phillips....

  5. Sorry to hear that. I've enjoyed the series - you should turn it into a book, BTW. Self publish on Kindle if necessary.

  6. From a purely selfish standpoint, I hate to see this blog end, and I'm very much hoping that after taking a break, you'll start back in with it. We need your sane, ethical voice.

I'll continue to follow you on Facebook and Twitter, although I'm going to miss reading your daily missives on this blog.

  7. Thanks, everyone. I have gotten some good suggestions about turning some of this work into books or booklets. I will explore these ideas a bit as I can and I will be sure to let you know what I have come up with.

  8. Carl, there is no way I could have kept up the work rate you have. Carl, please, remember that rule is "Carl comes first". If that sounds patronising it is because it is patronising, but desptite the fact that it is patronising - it is still true.
    Best wishes, Fredrik.

  9. It's been about 3 weeks since I visited your blog and this is what I am greeted with :-( But I understand. At times i take a break from blogging. I think the book is a great idea and should you need assistance with the technological side of making an e-book just say the word and my colleagues can supply their superior skills with little or possibly even no cost.

I have an idea I will be emailing you in a week or so and I hope you will provide your tremendous advice.

Talk to you soon Carl and thank you for your devotion to the battle thus far.

Mike, I might take you up on the technical help. I will bring it up when you follow up with email.

  11. ...man I miss this. Used to come home after a long day, sit down with a brew and catch up on the daily Unhealthful News. It was like my newspaper reading time.
